The location was excellent, with beautiful views over the cliffs and sea. The view from the breakfast room was amazing! You can go for beautiful walks around the surrounding (private) area. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The swimming pool was lovely. The bathroom was just what we needed and the bedroom quite spacious and good value. (Also the coffees and teas in the bedroom were organic and fairtrade!)

The sauna and steamroom did not work properly (sauna was 50 degrees, not much steam in the steamroom) and this was a shame, because one of the reasons we had picked this hotel was because of those facilities. Also the breakfast choice was sufficient, but not excellent. A lot of the hot breakfast food was fried and the continental breakfast was very limited.

Location was excellent. Food was good and staff were nice.

Corridors and communal areas could do with a painting. There was a wedding on and we could not use the bar until 7.30 p.m. We were not told this when booking.

All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We received excellent service in the restaurant and they were good at coping with food allergies

Some of the furnishings etc felt rather 'tired' and the wi fi connection was so poor that it was unusable while we were there.

The swimming pool and gym and the sea view from our bedroom window

We thought the gym area could do with a Drinking Water Fountain and we found the beds to be rather uncomfortable as springs were sticking into us.

      Wonderful location.

A very small bed for the two of us. The extractor fan was very noisy, we could hear next door's room very clearly.More comfortable chairs were needed in the lounge area.

The food was very good and reasonably priced. I used two different rooms (for reasons stated below) and both were nicely furnished in a modern minimalist style.

I paid extra for a sea view and the view was superb. However, the room opened onto a bland grey flat roof with a extractor fan in the middle of it. The extractor fan was noisy and I had to move to another room without a seaview as I was unable to work with the constant noise. (I was on a business trip, not on holiday). I was not offered a refund. All rooms had showers, there were no rooms with a bath. After a long day travelling and working, I prefer to relax in a bath. None of the literature I was sent from you, indicated showers only, or I would not have booked to stay there.

The location is stunning, there is a comfortable lounge dining room overlooking the beach. The hotel is dog friendly. The food was a simple bar menu adequately cooked. Bar staff were thoughtful and helpful.

Glendorgal is on a beach with no other food facilities or shops open early in the morning within walking distance. Breakfast at Glendorgal costs £12 whatever you have, be it a cup of coffee and a slice of toast or the full catastrophe of an English breakfast with all the trimmings. Thus either you pay £12 or go hungry. I think it would be good if they had on offer a continental breakfast at say £6 or that you could have a coffee and toast for maybe £2.50 or £3. It would be fairer if they warned you up front so that you could choose to take your own food, if you don't want a massive breakfast. Or sell their rooms with breakfast. I felt slightly high-jacked!

Location is perfect for those who want to spend a quiet couple of days far from big cities with splendid scenery and opportunity for walking tours around.

A bit cold in the room, but that is common disadvantage of British hotels.

    • Couple

The location was perfect, it was quiet but not too remote. The room was clean, well lit, warm and inviting. The pool/spa/gym were in excellent conidtion and were a pleasure to use.

    • Family with children

The view was excellent and the hotel was well furnished and decorated. The staff were friendly.

The room temperature was too hot even with the radiators turned down.

    • Couple

Amazing view and location. Situated on the beach and only a short walk into the town.

The room wear too hot! All the radiators were on full power and we couldn't turn one of them off.

The location is beautiful, the staff friendly and the room comfortable.

The check out. I was told that they'd already taken the money for drinks and breakfast etc from my card – without first showing me the bill and allowing me to sanction the payment. I wasn't even given a receipt so I could check the amount I'd paid and have a record for my accounts. This is definitely not good practice. The guest should be presented with the bill to check and then, when agreeing with the amount, should pay.
